Peter Avery is the winner of the Northern Centre’s 2013 Nigel Mansell Trophy, which is presented annually to the Centre’s 'Person of the Year'.

Peter is a member of the Northern Centre Rescue Unit crew and unfortunately was unable to attend the Centre’s awards dinner, which took place earlier this month at Arties Mill in Brigg, Lincolnshire.

However, Peter was on duty with the Northern Centre Rescue Unit at last weekend’s HSCC Donington Park meeting and the Deputy Crew Chief, Martin Dwyer, presented Peter with the trophy.

At the awards dinner, the BRN Trophy for the Centre’s ‘Marshal of the Year’ didn’t go to an individual for 2013; it went to all members of Chris Coote’s Recovery Team.

A special award was made to Ken & Maureen Wilson for their services to BRSCC Northern Centre over the years and the contribution made by the Centre Secretary, Jo Coote, was also recognised. As she does every year Jo puts a lot of effort into organising the dinner dance and guest of honour James Auld presented Jo with a lovely bouquet, on behalf of the Centre, to thank her for her hard work throughout 2013.

The Northern Centre’s first meeting of the season is at Cadwell Park on 14th/15thJune followed by a return to Croft on the 6th-7th September and then back to Cadwell on the 20th September.
