Brawn GP were awarded the prestigious BRSCC John Nicol Memorial Trophy at the Annual Awards Dinner at the Holiday Inn, Stratford-upon-Avon on Saturday night.

The trophy, named in honour of John Nicol, a former Chief Executive of the BRSCC was presented to Brawn GP CEO Nick Fry by John’s widow Debs Nicol.

In announcing the award BRSCC Chairman Bernard Cottrell said “Brawn GP are very deserving recipients of the trophy having re-written the history books last season. Formed from the ashes of the Honda F1 team, Ross Brawn and his staff completed an amazing turn around when just three weeks later Jenson Button & Rubens Barrichello took P1 & P2 at the teams debut GP in Melbourne. You all know how the story went from there as Jenson went on to claim the world title and the team the Constructors Championship and thus become the only F1 team to achieve this in its maiden season. A truly remarkable feat from what was in effect a privateer team.

More than 320 guests attended the awards dinner and we will have news and photos of more awards later in the week.
