TOWNSENDS SUPPORT FOR MX-5 SUPERCUP

The BRSCC has announced that Townsend Vehicle Hire will be one of the support sponsors for the Club’s Mazda MX-5 SuperCup for the 2015 season.

The logo of the Rugby based car/van contract hire & leasing specialists will adorn all of the MK3s competing in the SuperCup, including that of Townsend Managing Director, Garry Townsend, who has just completed his first season in the Championship, which is his latest project in a long racing career spanning Classic Touring Cars, Clio Cup and BriSCA F1 stock cars.

Commenting on the tie-up, Garry said “Having recently returned to circuit racing I have been really impressed with the SuperCup and I look forward to a full season next year. With the professionalism of the SuperCup’s organisation, we consider it to be an excellent opportunity to promote Townsend Vehicle Hire, and particularly our speciality business of short or long term contact hire”.

BRSCC Competitions Director, Drew Furlong said, “Garry’s decision to use the SuperCup to promote his business is more evidence of the progress of the MK3 championship. The 2014 season was one of steady growth with the average grid size hitting the twenty mark. With several drivers moving up from our Mk1 championship, plus additions from other series, we fully expect to see a regular thirty car grid in 2015.”

The 2014 BRSCC Mazda MX-5 SuperCup was won by Abbie Eaton and the new season will start with a double-header in April 2015.
