AIRTEC MOTORSPORT CONTINUES AS TITLE SPONSOR OF FIESTA ST240 CHAMPIONSHIP FOR 2023

The British Racing & Sports Car Club and AIRTEC Motorsport are delighted to announce a continuation of their partnership and title sponsorship of the BRSCC Fiesta ST240 Championship, ahead of the 2023 season.

Both the BRSCC and AIRTEC enjoyed a working partnership prior to their announcement last season, the latter having been involved in the development of the new ST240 specification Mk7 Ford Fiesta race car. In 2022, an agreement was reached for AIRTEC to take on title sponsorship of the championship, known throughout last season as the “AIRTEC Motorsport Fiesta Championship”.

Now for 2023, both parties are happy to confirm an extension to this partnership. As such, this year’s contest will be officially named the “AIRTEC Motorsport Fiesta ST240 Championship”, with the focus switching solely to the turbocharged ST240 class of Fiestas which will run solo this season. As before in 2022, all race cars will display AIRTEC Motorsport branding on both the front and rear number plates, as well as the side skirts/lower rear quarters.

Over a number of years, Essex-based performance and race part manufacturers AIRTEC Motorsport has assisted the BRSCC in the development of the rapidly growing Fiesta ST240 championship class, and various AIRTEC Motorsport parts are mandatory fitment on the race cars. The Ford marque has long played a key role in AIRTEC Motorsport’s business, and continuing their expanded involvement with the Fiesta Championship will further allow them to promote and develop parts that are proven to perform with maximum reliability on the race track.

Last year, the ST240 class and overall titles were won by 2021 Fiesta Junior champion Jenson Brickley after an intense battle all season with former champion Alastair Kellett. Their year-long duel was an entertaining spectacle to watch, so much so that it was ranked 3rd in Autosport’s end-of-year “Top 10 Club Racing Rivalries of 2022”. Brickley was also presented with a specially crafted AIRTEC Fiesta trophy for his title win, which he received at the end-of-year BRSCC awards ceremony from AIRTEC’s director Alan Shepherd. With a grid that reached as many as 20 ST240 class cars last year, more of the same is expected this season.
