BOB ARMSTRONG – 1947-2016
Sad news reached us last night that our former Competitions Manager, Bob Armstrong, passed away yesterday afternoon after a long illness, aged 69.
Bob was first appointed as the Competitions Manager of the BRSCC in 1988 and went onto serve the Club for many years, in two separate spells. Bob played an instrumental role in starting many of the series and formulae that are now staple parts of the domestic motorsport scene.
BRSCC Chairman Bernard Cottrell said, “Everyone connected with the BRSCC will be extremely sad to hear of Bob’s passing. Bob had an encyclopaedic knowledge of motorsport from which the Club benefitted greatly, and he was always happy to help the BRSCC even after he had left”.
Sincere condolences go to Bob’s family and friends.
