BRSCC CLAPHAM NORTH WINTER ESPORTS SERIES VISITS BRANDS HATCH FOR ROUND 3

The third event of the 2025 BRSCC Clapham North Winter eSports Series takes place at the Club’s spiritual home, as the Brands Hatch GP circuit in Kent is the next virtual stop on the calendar for our competitors.

Brands Hatch’s legendary status as one of the finest and best loved circuits in motorsport comes thanks to its history as a former grand prix and sports car racing venue, and the full GP layout is still seen by many as one of the most challenging and exciting circuits to race on. This will certainly ensure our eSports racers will be fully focused across the evening’s racing.

The battle in the championship standings is still close, although the gap between leader James Dennison and Matt Kendall has increased – by just one point. Now Dennison is two in front of Kendall, the pair sharing the victories last time out on Donington Park’s GP layout – Kendall picked up the first two wins of the night in the dry followed by Dennison conquering the first ever wet race in BRSCC eSports history in the third. All eyes will certainly be on them to continue this battle at the top.

Will Blackwell-Chambers only managed a single podium at Donington with second behind teammate Kendall in race two, but his top fives throughout the rest of the evening keep him in third just seven points back. Still in contention to challenge the top two, all it takes is one race to work in his favour while others slip up, and he’ll be right on their tail.

Isaac Doble holds fourth and will be searching for more podiums after two second places so far this season, with the hopes that Brands Hatch also takes him closer to a victory too. Jack Noller rounds off the top five, impressively sitting this high on dropped scores already due to missing the opening round at Navarra. If he can continue to score high in the remaining three events, perhaps a championship podium could be on the cards.

The rest of the top ten features drivers that have so far had mixed fortunes. Thomas Merritt was impressive at Navarra but struggled a little in the end at Donington and missed out on a podium finish, but the speed is definitely there to achieve more. Benjy Douglas is another young driver who has plenty of potential, but results haven’t quite gone as he may have hoped as will be happy to sit seventh at this stage with plenty of racing left to go.

Tom Griffiths is no stranger to BMWs himself thanks to his previous Compact Cup experience, but he’s yet to break into a top five finish and will have ambitions to change that at Brands Hatch and move up the standings from eighth. Ari Barker and Pete Smith complete the top ten, although both had events to forget at Donington after such promise was shown at Navarra. Both will have their sights firmly set on rejoining the lead group this time.

Tune in LIVE from 7:45pm on the BRSCC YouTube channel to watch all of the action, as an expected field of 30+ BMW M2 CS Racing machines get ready to rumble at Brands Hatch!
