BRSCC UPDATE ON DONINGTON PARK AUGUST 1/2

In light of the recent announcement earlier this morning from the BTCC regarding their revised calendar for the 2020 season, the BRSCC confirms that its previously scheduled August 1-2 race meeting at Donington Park has been postponed.

The main catalyst in this decision was the replacement dates that were set for this year’s Tour de France, which in turn affected ITV4’s existing TV schedule, therefore requiring them to make amendments. In order to accommodate the BTCC and its regular live ITV4 broadcast package, a change to the date of their season opener was required which in turn meant a switch to the weekend of August 1/2 2020 at Donington Park, meaning our pre-existing club race meeting had to make way as a result.

This announcement means there will be further amendments to the calendars of the BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Championship, Mazda MX-5 SuperCup, the Fun Cup Championship, the BRSCC Clubsport Trophy, both the Avon Tyres National and Northern & Super Classic Formula Ford championships, the Production GTi Championship and the ST-XR Challenge. The BRSCC is working tirelessly to rebuild the calendars of all its championships and series in order to provide replacement dates and venues when and where possible.

As such, the BRSCC is in communication with a number of alternative UK venues to organise a replacement race meeting on the same August 1/2 weekend, to allow our competitors the chance to race on that same date elsewhere with as little compromise as possible. More information on this potential alternative venue will be provided in due course as and when available.
