CIVIC CUP JOINS BRSCC FOR 2018 SEASON

The BRSCC is delighted to announce that the Civic Cup will be joining the Club’s portfolio of championships for 2018 and beyond. In addition, they will also be supporting two rounds of the TCR UK Championship in its inaugural season.

About to enter its 8th full season, the BRSCC is confident that it will provide the perfect platform and opportunity for the Civic Cup to grow further.  2017 was the best season to date and provided some incredibly close and entertaining racing.  Followers have been gripped over the 7 rounds, with the championship being decided at the final round of the year.  There were 8 different race winners and the number of different podium winners showed just how close the racing was.   

Shaun Woods, Director of Civic Cup, said “Having approached the BRSCC, I’m very pleased with what they have offered us for 2018 and the opportunity to race on the TCR package at two meetings was certainly one not to be missed.  The BRSCC paddock will be the perfect platform to showcase what the Civic Cup is all about.” 

“I’d like to thank all the drivers past and present for their continued support, I’m sure they will be as excited as me at this news.  The drivers have raised the bar in car preparation and the driving standards were second to none this year.  

I hope this move will help to raise the profile of our talented drivers, our 2016 Civic Cup Champion, Carl Swift, is entering the TCR UK championship himself as a privateer in 2018.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the 750 Motor Club for its support over the last 4 seasons, it’s been a great home and the support for the Championship couldn’t have been better”. 

New BRSCC Chairman Peter Daly added “The Civic Cup is a welcome addition to the BRSCC stable. It has enormous potential for further development and we look forward to working with Shaun and the team to deliver that”.
