CLAPHAM NORTH MOT TO SPONSOR MAZDA MX-5 SUPERCUP IN 2020
Clapham North MOT has confirmed that it will once again become a sponsor of the BRSCC Mazda MX-5 SuperCup in 2020, in a joint announcement made by the championship and company owner George Grant at the Autosport International Racing Car Show at the NEC in Birmingham this week.
A family-owned garage based in South London and established since 1960, Clapham North MOT was conceived by Ronnie Grant, father of George and a former competitor and team owner whose outfit once brought together John Barnard and Patrick Head to work alongside each other before they eventually progressed into the world of Formula 1. Today, Clapham North MOT provides an excellent and reliable service in performing MOTs, vehicle servicing, wheel alignment, tune-ups and more and celebrates its 60th anniversary this year as well as Ronnie’s 95th birthday.
The deal will see the Clapham North logo feature on both the windscreen strips and the rear number plate panel, ensuring maximum visibility and exposure for the brand on all MX-5 SuperCup race cars throughout the 2020 season. Both Clapham North and George Grant have been long-time supporters of the championship, with George having competed regularly in the paddock over the last few seasons. The MX-5 SuperCup is one of the most competitive championships in British club motorsport, having seen the title decided on the final weekend of competition for the last six successive seasons.
Grant described his delight at the new deal stating “I’m delighted to be reunited with the BRSCC and especially supporting the Mazda MX-5 SuperCup for 2020. Clapham North MOT began back in 1960 and it’s great to see what we’ve achieved over the years and that we still have this British motorsport connection. All SuperCup competitors will be running the Clapham North branding on their windscreens and rear number plates and we’re really looking forward to another successful year racing in the championship.”
BRSCC Mazda MX-5 SuperCup championship coordinator Mandy Andrew added “George and Clapham North have been valued supporters of our series over the last few years and this new sponsorship deal for 2020 only helps to cement this further. We look forward to seeing George competing with us again this season and to the see the Clapham North brand proudly displayed on the race cars of all our competitors during this season”.
The MX-5 SuperCup will feature an eight race meeting calendar this season, starting at the Silverstone International circuit on March 21/22 2020.
