DOUBLE R SIGN CHILEAN RACER NICOLAS PINO FOR 2020 BRITISH F4 SEASON

Nicolas Pino has become the latest addition to the 2020 British F4 grid, after the Chilean youngster was announced by Double R as their newest addition to their driver roster this season.

Pino’s announcement confirms his full-time switch to single-seaters after substantial experience in karting, and joins the championship off the back of campaigns in FIA World and European Karting Championships in the OK class, as well as appearing in the WSK Euro Series. This won’t be the first time that Nicolas has raced a car, however, as he made a brief appearance in the F4 South East Asia Series when he competed at Sepang, Malaysia in September last year.

The signing of Pino now means that Double R’s line-up becomes a three-car squad as the young Chilean joins Scholarship winner Caspar Stevenson and sophomore driver Reema Juffali from Saudi Arabia. Pino will also be eligible to compete for the Rookie Cup as this will be his first full season of circuit racing.

Nicolas has declared his excitement at joining the championship, stating “It’s great having the opportunity to race in British F4 with Double R and Argenti Motorsport. I’ve had the opportunity to race with great karting teams and very professional people, and I think this team is one of those too. They always go for more, and I love that. I’ve come all the way from Chile and it is a great opportunity for my career and I hope we make the most of it and have some good achievements for me and the team throughout the year.”

Michael Meadows, team manager of Double R’s F4 operation added “It’s great to welcome Nico to the team. We had some good tests at the end of 2019 and it was great to see him improve all the way through them. It will be his first year in car racing, so there is a lot to learn but we will give him all the help and support he needs. We’re excited to see what he can do this year.”
