FORMULA FORD SAMPLER

CATEGORIES:

The Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain will be throwing open its doors to prospective competitors next month. The Ford-backed championship's successful annual 'sampler day' will be held at the Rockingham circuit, providing a vital opportunity for prospective competitors to meet the teams and to drive the cars.

More than 50 drivers attended the event last season and Sam Roach, of championship promoter RacingLine, hopes for a similar number at this year's event, to be held on Wednesday 2nd December: "We are laying on an open circuit for all the 2009 British Formula Ford teams – as well as prospective teams – and it's their opportunity to showcase themselves. We are also inviting competitors to register to attend so that they can meet the teams and sample a modern Formula Ford chassis."

The sampler day is open to all drivers aged 16 and over holding at least a kart licence. Prospective participants must register in advance with the championship co-ordinator, Penny Mattocks, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

"We aim to make it an informal yet extremely valuable exercise," added Roach. "In addition to the test drives, we will be able to provide all the championship information which competitors, teams and sponsors require to enable them to make their plans."

The newly crowned Formula Ford Champion of Great Britain, James Cole, and championship runner-up Josef Newgarden will be at the event also to claim their valuable prizes – Formula 3 tests with T-Sport, the team which this year propelled Formula Ford graduates Wayne Boyd and Adriano Buzaid to race victories in their maiden British F3 seasons.
