FULLER RETURNS WITH SWR FOR BRANDS HATCH IN TCR UK

After missing the second TCR UK race meeting at Knockhill, Howard Fuller will return to the SWR team for this weekend’s event at Brands Hatch’s Indy Circuit.

Fuller contested the season’s opening pair of races at Silverstone over the Easter weekend, in which the team’s distinctive black and blue Honda Civic qualified in third place and went on to finish fifth in Race 1 and fourth in Race 2.

In Scotland, Fuller’s seat was filled by SWR team owner Sean Walkinshaw, who gave the team its first TCR podium when he finished third in Race 2. Fuller’s aim at Brands Hatch will be to continue the momentum and score his first podium finish for the team, which currently lies in third place in the championship standings.

Howard Fuller said: “It’s obviously good to be back for Brands and I’m very excited to be racing again. Sean [Walkinshaw] did a great job at Knockhill and I want to continue that momentum moving forward.

“I’m actually more prepared now than when we arrived at Silverstone for the first round, I’ve got experience of the TCR car in a race situation and I think I’ll be more feisty over the opening laps now I know what to expect – that’s where we lost out a little bit at Silverstone. I have to say a huge thank you to my sponsors RBC and TDI for getting us back on track, hopefully it’ll be a strong weekend.”
