Double R F4 has announced Michael Meadows will head up the team’s F4 British Championship certified by FIA – powered by EcoBoost programme this season.

Michael Meadows, Team Principal of the Argenti Motorsport outfit, already successful in its own right in karting circles in the UK and Europe, will this year take over the reins of Double R F4’s team.

Meadows is a two-time Porsche Carrera Cup GB (2012-13) champion and won the 2018 Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup behind the wheel of an AKKA-run Mercedes AMG GT3.

His single-seater credentials include campaigns in Formula BMW UK, Formula Renault and British Formula 3 and, with 36 race victories and over 100 podium finishes across the last decade and a half, the next generation of rising stars will have a wealth of racing experience and knowledge to aid their development.

The team are close to announcing their first driver for the upcoming campaign, which gets underway at Donington Park, Leicestershire, over the weekend of 28-29 March.

“Having spent the past 15 years racing myself, it’s exciting to now be taking on the reins. Double R has a fantastic track record in this Championship and with their full support, I have no doubt that this season we will continue that.”

“Argenti Motorsport are extremely proud to be working with Double R and, with our three drivers, I am excited for the season to begin.”

“I’ve learnt a lot throughout my career and I hope that our drivers and my team can take something from that. It’s interesting being on the other side and having the responsibility for the team, but the ambition is always the same, and that’s to leave everything on the track.”

Double R Team Principal Anthony ‘Boyo’ Hieatt underlined his excitement at introducing Meadows to the Championship and believes the partnership with Argenti Motorsport will prove to be a fruitful one from the get-go.

“It is important for new faces to continue to arrive in the junior formula paddocks, which makes introducing Michael as the British F4 team manager this year an exciting announcement,” commented Hieatt.

“Michael has already demonstrated just how valuable his knowledge and experience of 15 years of driving are and I am sure that this will be proven in his team’s results over the season.”
