The BRSCC have announced that the 2017 BRSCC National Formula Ford 1600 Championship will be sponsored by Britcover – manufacturers of high quality PVC-clad steel framed structures. Further support will be provided by long-time partners, Avon Tyres.

As a result of the additional funding, coverage of 7 of the 8 meetings which comprise the series will be broadcast on the motorsport.tv channel. Footage will be filmed and edited by AJK TV who produced superb highlight packages of the Rockingham and Brands Hatch rounds last season – these are still available on the BRSCC YouTube Channel.

Based on existing data, each programme broadcast on motorsport.tv can be expected to have 15 – 20,000 viewers. With up to 5 repeats, this means each of the 7 meetings will be seen by up to 100,000 people in the UK. The production company have also been asked to supply a European version of the audio for each edition, therefore it is expected that the championship will be broadcast across the continent by motorsport.tv which is received in 60 million homes.

Furthermore, coverage of the 2017 BRSCC Britcover National Formula Ford 1600 Championship will also be broadcast on the FrontRunner TV channel and the MotorTrend.com website which will enable those without subscription TV to see the programmes.

Ian Wolfenden, Chairman of the Formula Ford Focus Group, who had a key role in arranging the TV coverage said, “This is fantastic news for the series as it will provide great entertainment for viewers and will give the National Championship the exposure it deserves.”

The BRSCC Britcover National Formula Ford 1600 Championship with Avon Tyres gets underway at Brands Hatch on 8/9th April with a triple header, where a full grid is expected.
