New Championship Coordinator confirmed for City Car Cup
The British Racing & Sports Car Club (BRSCC) can confirm that, following a number of years of successful stewardship, Lyndsay Close will be stepping back from her role as Nankang Tyre CityCar Cup Championship Coordinator ahead of the 2026 race season.
Throughout Lyndsay’s time coordinating CityCar Cup, the championship has gone from strength to strength, delivering close racing, strong grids and a welcoming environment for competitors. The BRSCC, along with everyone involved in CityCar Cup, would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Lyndsay for her dedication, commitment and hard work over many seasons.
From 2026, responsibility for coordinating the championship will pass to Andrew Payne. Andrew has been actively involved with a number of other BRSCC championships over the past couple of years and brings valuable experience and enthusiasm to the role. He is very much looking forward to working with competitors, teams and officials to continue the development and success of CityCar Cup in the seasons ahead.
The BRSCC would like to thank Lyndsay Close once again for their outstanding contribution, and to wish Andrew Payne every success as he takes on the coordination of CityCar Cup for 2026 and beyond.
