NOEL ROBINSON IS FESTIVAL BOUND
Noel Robinson is on his way to the Formula Ford Festival next month following an amazing Martin Donnelly Trophy win at Kirkistown last weekend where he beat the cream of Ireland’s not inconsiderable Formula Ford talent
The Portadown based driver struggled to make the final of the annual 1600cc race at the Northern Ireland circuit and only qualified via the ‘Last Chance’ race which put him 22nd on the grid. Undeterred, he charged through the field finally over taking more fancied rivals Neville Smyth and Noel Dunne with just two laps to go to take an unbelievable win in his Van Diemen RF92. In addition to collecting a sizeable prize fund, Noel also qualifies for an entry in the 1600cc Kent engined category of the BRSCC Formula Ford Festival which takes place at Brands Hatch next month. Noel will be in familiar company when he takes his place on the grid for the first heat as the Festival has a long history of support from drivers from the Emerald Isle who always add their unique mix of fiercely competitive racing and good paddock ‘craic’ to the event. The 2009 BRSCC Formula Ford Festival takes place at Brands Hatch on 17th – 18th October. Entry forms and Supplementary Regulations are available from the Festival section of this website.
