The BRSCC Midlands Centre's Sue Crook became the latest recipient of the coveted Bert Lamkin Memorial Salver at the annual Championship Awards Dinner Dance at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon last Saturday.
Speaking about Sue before she was presented with the Award, BRSCC vice chairman Peter Daly said of her: "The lady in question has been associated with our Midland Centre for many years but has been known to travel far and wide, always without complaint, to take on whatever job she has been tasked with. Like so many of our volunteers she changes her own work schedule to suit the requirements of the Club and her always positive and selfless attitude makes her a pleasure to work with.
She can often be spotted in the British GT paddock clad in less than flattering overalls with a scanner in hand checking tyres and she is equally thorough in checking drivers’ fire-proof underwear or their speed in the pitlane!
At many meetings she can be found in the paddock office signing drivers-on and carefully checking their licences or assisting in the scrutineering bay with the paperwork."
Sue is one of many voluteers who willingly give up their free time to become involved in motorsport and assist the operations and running of our race meetings across the season. We're eternally grateful for the hard work and effort they all put in and we can't thank each and every one of them enough for everything they do. Sue is a shining example of our volunteers and is a very worthy winner of the Salver indeed.
