THAI RISING STAR TASANAPOL INTHRAPHUVASAK CONFIRMS 2021 CARLIN SEAT
Carlin have confirmed Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak will complete their line-up for the 2021 F4 British Championship certified by FIA – powered by Ford EcoBoost season.
The Thai racer – ‘Tern’ to his new team-mates – joins the reigning Teams’ champions after a successful start to the year in F4 UAE, claiming three podiums and running consistently at the front of the field en route to fifth in the standings.
That followed a successful career in karting, and Inthraphuvasak has prepared extensively for his debut season in Britain’s FIA Formula 4 series with the Farnham-based squad over the winter months, as well as racing in eSports during the 2020 season.
He joins previously announced team-mates Kai Askey, Dougie Bolger and Roman Bilinski as Carlin confirm a full capacity, four-car line-up for the campaign ahead.
Inthraphuvasak will now benefit from British F4’s unrivalled platform as he embarks on his next steps on the FIA Single Seater pyramid, including live, free-to-air ITV television coverage and an expected capacity trackside crowd when restrictions allow.
The new season begins at the high-speed Thruxton circuit in Hampshire on the 8th-9th May.
“I’m very excited to be racing with Carlin this year in the F4 British Championship,” said Inthraphuvasak.
“I know I will learn a lot over the coming season and that I have a great team around me to help push me.
“I really enjoyed starting the season in the F4 UAE Championship and know I already have a lot more experience than I did a few months ago.
“There will be lots to learn this year for example all of the circuits are new to me, but we will work together to be in the best shape possible for the start of the season. I can’t wait to get racing again.”
Team Principal Trevor Carlin expressed his delight at welcoming Inthraphuvasak into the fold and believes his experience in F4 over the winter period will help kick off his development for the season ahead on the front foot.
“We’re delighted to welcome Tern to the team,” said Carlin.
“It’s wonderful that once again the F4 British Championship is attracting drivers from outside the UK and outside Europe. It is the perfect environment for young drivers across the world to learn their craft and gain a huge amount of track time on a variety of circuits.
“Tern and his management are pushing to get as much track time as possible and his participation in the F4 UAE Championship will no doubt have helped him develop and improve his race craft. We look forward to working with him over the coming season.”
