TIME FOR MORE PLUM PUDDING ON BOXING DAY!

For the second consecutive year, the BRSCC is delighted to be organising the 4-wheeled element of the traditional 43rd annual Plum Pudding Races at Mallory Park in Leicestershire, with a eclectic mix set to take to the track in both the Saloon Car and Sports Car races.

The Sports Car Races will see the usual healthy mix of marques, with Caterham featuring as the dominant brand. A model from each of Caterham Motorsport’s five championship will be represented with Adam Harrison (Academy), Simon Goodwin (Roadsport), Chris Aubrey (270R), Jon Curry (310R) and Martin Gee and Andrew McMillan (420Rs) all out in force along with the Caterham Sigmax of Peter Marsh.

Other sports cars to keep an eye on will be the Radical SR3 RS of Dave Porter and the Mallock Mk16 of Philip Hart, both of which should be the main contenders for overall victory. Bill Lancashire’s fearsome TVR Tuscan Challenge shouldn’t be counted out either, while the rest of the entry is filled out by a concoction of Toyota MR2s, Lotus Elises and Mazda MX-5s, plus a Ginetta G50 and a Westfield for good measure.

Over in the Saloon Car Races, the Renault Clio appears to be the favoured machine with no less than 3 lining up today with Geoff Conner, Callum Houchen and Mick Storey all featuring. There’s also a trio of Citroen Saxos present all piloted by Marcus Bicknell, Chris Bicknell and Steve Everson respectively. Other cars to watch out for include Simon Ward’s potent little Vauxhall Astra GTE, Brian Sale’s throaty 5.7 litre Rover Vitesse, the Subaru Impreza of Wayne Ward and Richard Thurbin’s Lancia Delta Integrale.

After celebrating Christmas Day, what better way for any petrolhead to unwind than by heading to the track! Football has their boxing day face-offs and so do we! Happy holidays everyone and let the festive battles begin!
