It’s the traditional end of season blue riband event for the BRSCC and one which every driver that contests it desperately wants to win, in a bid to write their name into British motorsport history. The 49th annual BRSCC Formula Ford Festival is one of the most hotly contested single seater competitions in the world and still attracts drivers from around the world, as well as a strong British contingent. Drivers compete in a knockout-style event by progressing through heats on Saturday to the semi-finals on Sunday, with a Last Chance repechage race to decide the final few competitors that head through to the all-important Grand Final. The winner will not only lift the Neil Shanahan Trophy, but also etch their name into the history books alongside legendary champions of motorsport that have won the Festival before including Jenson Button, Mark Webber, Johnny Herbert, Anthony Davidson, Jan Magnussen, Nick Tandy, Eddie Irvine and more.
On the support bill for the event, the final rounds of the BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Championship and Mazda MX-5 SuperCup are set to see out their 2020 season, plus additional Formula Ford action from both the HSCC Historic Formula Ford Championship and HSCC Classic Formula Ford Championship. This in turn should see one of the largest gatherings of Formula Fords at a single event in 2020, with over 125 cars anticipated in total! Plus, expect great saloon car action from our friends at the Classic & Modern Motorsport Club as their Southern Centre brings the Classic Era Challenge featuring a host of cars usually seen amongst their Super Saloons, Intermarques Silhouettes and TinTops.
