About the ZEO PROTOTYPE SERIES
The ZEO Prototype Cup is a dedicated home for any and all sports prototypes and sports racing cars looking for a place to race against each other in high-speed, flat out competition on some of the UK’s best racing circuits.
The ZEO Prototype Cup has been created by Excool’s Duncan Williams, an experienced racer who has competed in sports prototype racing for a number of years. The series features six classes and is open to any and all sports prototypes and sports racing cars wishing to compete, with both open top and closed top examples permitted to race. The variety that features in the series is superb, with the evergreen mix of various radical models and more dedicated chassis constructors such as Juno, Ligier, Chiron and Jade joined by a number of unique and specially built models as well as full-blown LMP3 race cars being eligible to compete too. This is without question the most varied and diverse grid of sports racing cars you will see racing in the UK!
The race weekend format is a 20-minute qualifying session followed by two 20 minute races. The series will run over four race weekends in 2022 with eight races in total, visiting Snetterton in April, then a centrepiece event on the Silverstone GP circuit in June, followed by Brands Hatch in August and then the finale at Donington Park in September. The series benefits from live stream coverage at selected meetings this year as well as a dedicated race centre unit and hospitality to ensure a superb race weekend experience all round.
