The Caterham Graduates Racing Club (CGRC) has been delivering some of the UK’s best grassroots Caterham racing since 1998. Built on the philosophy that it should be the driver — not the car — that makes the difference, the club focuses on fair, close competition in a friendly, sociable paddock environment.
With a strong emphasis on cost control, driver development, and community spirit, CGRC has become one of the most respected single-make racing clubs in British motorsport. Many members race the same car season after season, and upgrades between classes are entirely optional — helping to ensure long-term affordability and accessibility.
The CGRC operates two main Caterham-based classes, offering a natural progression path for drivers and a broad range of competitive machinery:
Sigma 135
Based around the Caterham Motorsport 270R specification, Sigma 135 features cars with the 1600cc Ford Sigma TiVCT engine producing approximately 135bhp. Tyres are Toyo 185/60 R13 R888R, with optional upgrades including wide-track suspension, quick steering rack, race dampers/springs, and brake bias valve.
This class also includes eligible models upgraded from the Caterham Academy, Roadsport, and Modified Roadsport.
Sigma 150
The Sigma 150 class features Caterham 310R-spec cars, as well as former Sigmax cars. These cars run the 1600cc Ford Sigma TiVCT engine with approximately 150bhp, wide track suspension, limited slip differentials, and run on Toyo 185/60 R13 R888R tyres. This class structure allows for highly competitive racing across a range of budgets, with an emphasis on driving skill, progression, and maintaining performance parity.
The CGRC is proud to welcome new drivers each season and works hard to maintain its reputation as a driver-focused, community-led championship. Whether you’re a Caterham Academy graduate, a seasoned racer, or someone looking to get back on track, the CGRC offers a competitive and supportive environment to enjoy your racing.
