Get ready for a bumper weekend of racing at the fastest circuit in the UK, as we make a trip back to Thruxton in Hampshire for what should be an incredible two days of competition at this superb high speed venue!

Topping the bill will be all five of Caterham Motorsport’s championships on their roster, which headlined our last visit back in 2018 with a superb two days of competition. The Caterham Academy, Roadsport, Seven 270R, Seven 310R and Seven UK championships will all be out in force and will once again relish the chance to go nose-to-tail with each other. Expect plenty of slipstream battles in all ten of their races across both days, as the second half of the season rolls on and title battles become that little bit clearer.

Endurance racing action comes in the form of the Fun Cup Championship, which makes its first-ever visit to Thruxton since the series was conceived here in the UK 18 years ago. The drivers and teams will be fresh from their opening two rounds at Snetterton, where Team Viking and defending champions Uvio/ Hofmann’s Lotus both reached the top step on the same day. With other top teams such as Team7 WASPP, Axiametrics, PLR Racing, DespatchBay Express and Track Focused all showing great pace that day too, the battle to see who comes out on top at the fastest circuit they’ll visit all year will be fascinating, especially when there’s a first-ever Thruxton winner to crown!

Adding a saloon car flavour of the weekend will be two series that produce high action wherever they go – the Nankang Tyre BMW Compact Cup and the Civic Cup. Both are heading to Hampshire to contest their second race meetings of the season after they both had to cope with very damp conditions at Oulton Park! Regardless of the weather on this weekend, the racing they are both set to provide should be intense, cut and thrust and above all else exciting.

Project 8 Racing Club is pleased to be racing with the BRSCC this weekend – fielding a varied grid in their Toyo Tires Racing Saloons series.  This includes cars from the Classic VW Cup, Z cars, Production BMW Championship and the core Racing Saloons drivers. Classic VW’s include the venerable Peter Kaylor in his Mk1 Supercopa and Alex Kite in his rapid VW Vento VR6.  Look out for fierce battles amongst the BMW Z4’s with Jamie Jeffrey and Edd Giddings providing some exciting racing.  The BMW E30 M3 of John Willcocks sometimes makes it round Thruxton so long as his gear knob remains attached, but local men Stu Waite and Army Major Farard Darver are sure to be near the front in their successive generation E36/E46 M3’s.  Maciek Kaszczuk will be sure to pedal his Production BMW E30 320i at unnerving pace and angles, no doubt.
