Get ready for a bumper weekend of racing at the fastest circuit in the UK, as we make a trip back to Thruxton in Hampshire for what should be an incredible two days of competition at this superb high speed venue!
At the top of the bill will be the latest rounds of the ever growing TCR UK and Dunlop Touring Car Trophy championships, with some excellent touring car racing set to be on display with a mix of TCR, NGTC, S2000 and BTC cars set to race against one another in one of the most cost-effective ways to race a touring car. This will be the series’ first visit to Thruxton since its inception, but most of these cars will have competed on this circuit in recent years and given the circuit’s fast and flowing nature, it should be a thrilling pair of races to watch! Once again supporting them will be the Volkswagen Racing Cup, featuring a great mix of contemporary VW Golfs and Sciroccos plus a couple of cars from elsewhere within the VAG Group set to feature too.
Equally as thrilling should be all five of Caterham Motorsport’s championships on their roster, which headlined our last visit back in 2018 with a superb two days of competition. The Caterham Academy, Roadsport, Seven 270R, Seven 310R and Seven 420R championships will all be out in force and will once again relish the chance to go nose-to-tail with each other. Expect plenty of slipstream battles in all ten of their races across both days, as the second half of the season rolls on and title battles become that little bit clearer.
Adding further to the saloon car flavor of the weekend will be two series that produce high action wherever they go – the Nankang Tyre BMW Compact Cup and the Civic Cup. Both are also reaching the final stages of their respective seasons and will qualify and race all on the Sunday, meaning that they’ll come and go quicker than you can say their names! But the racing their set to provide should intense, cut and thrust and above all else exciting.
