Oulton Park International Circuit
2026 BRSCC NW CENTRE SEASON OPENER
11 April 2026 - 11 April 2026
The new season is ready to ignite! The British Racing & Sports Car Club fires into life in the North West for 2026 with its traditional North West Centre Season Opener at the iconic Oulton Park International Circuit. Known for its daunting elevation changes, blind crests, and natural amphitheater feel, the Cheshire venue provides the ultimate stage for a high-octane one-day racing spectacle.
After months of anticipation, the international circuit will come alive on Saturday 11 April with a jam-packed schedule featuring a superb variety of championships, serving up everything from strategic endurance marathons to flat-out sprint battles.
Leading the charge is the Fun Cup Endurance Championship, a series where the racing is as serious as the name is lighthearted. These mid-engined, silhouette SuperBeetles provide some of the closest endurance racing in the world, with teams of drivers engaging in a high-speed game of chess. At Oulton Park, the draft is everything; expect to see lines of cars nose-to-tail through the fast sweeps of Lakeside and Island Bend, where a single mistake or a perfectly timed pit stop can be the difference between the top step of the podium and a mid-pack finish.
Joining the billing is a combined grid of MG icons, as the MG Cockshoot Cup and the Hickford Construction MG Metro Cup share the track for a mixed-class showdown. This combined field showcases the best of the MG marque, from the agile Metros to the more modern MGFs and ZRs. With two championships fighting for the same pieces of tarmac, expect fierce inter-class rivalry and non-stop action as these drivers aim to kick-start their 2026 campaigns in style.
The Modified Ford Series also joins the party, bringing a spectacular array of Blue Oval machinery to the track. Ranging from retro icons to modern monsters, these high-performance Fords are built for raw speed and are perfectly suited to Oulton Park’s fast straights. With a grid that rewards power and precision, the “Mod Fords” are guaranteed to provide a high-octane spectacle for the North West crowds.
Adding a fresh spark to the event, the Classic Mini Racing Championship makes its highly anticipated debut under the BRSCC banner for 2026. These agile pocket rockets are a brand-new addition to the club, promising to deliver the kind of door-to-handlebar thrills that only a classic Mini can provide. Watching a pack of these legends tackle the Knickerbrook chicane and the climb to Druids will be a highlight of the day as they begin their inaugural season with the club.
With five unique championships on the billing and an action-packed timetable, the BRSCC 2026 North West Season Opener promises a day packed with variety and unpredictable racing. Oulton Park is the perfect place to kick off what promises to be a sensational 2026 season.
