Thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, we sadly didn’t manage to make a trip to Wales at all last year, but thankfully in 2021 we’ll be putting that right! The wonderful and picturesque Anglesey circuit in North Wales plays host to two days of club racing with the BRSCC, featuring an excellent mix of endurance racing, sports cars, saloons, single-seaters and even karts thrown into the mix.

SUNDAY LIVE STREAM
Headlining Saturday’s racing will be the Fun Cup Endurance Championship with the first of two doubleheader race days of the year. Anglesey is not only a favourite circuit for drivers and teams in terms of the track itself and the beautiful location, but it also regularly hosts two races – one in regular daylight hours and the other racing into the darkness, with both this year set to be 3 hours in length. Knowing how close and intense FunCup races can get across their duration, adding the extra element of racing both in day and night time will certainly provide a wonderful atmosphere to round off the day’s action.
Alongside them will be the ever-packed paddock presented by the BRSCC Mazda MX-5s, who bring the MX-5 Championship and MX-5 Clubman Championship for Mk1 generation models and the MX-5 SuperCup for the younger Mk3 versions. All three look set to feature bumper grids lining up in Wales and they never fail to disappoint when they visit Anglesey to race, so be sure to watch all of their on-track activity with interest, especially at this stage of the season as all three series approach the halfway mark.
We’re also delighted to be hosting the second rounds of the Motorsport UK British Superkart Championship, the top line national championship for racers of these extreme machines. They’ll be raring to go after their season opener at Mallory Park and with four classes of kart set to be racing against themselves and each other, it’s going to be a busy and intense affair on track. Superkarting is a form of racing that everyone should experience at least once, so if you haven’t done so already, now is your chance – don’t miss it!
If you’re a Formula Ford fan, we’ve got you covered there too! Both of our championships will be in attendance, with the Avon Tyres National Formula Ford Championship showcasing some of the young, up and coming single seater talent that may well find itself at the wheel of a formula car, a GT or touring car over the next few years. Formula Ford is still a very valuable proving ground for drivers to develop in and on a circuit like Anglesey, this year’s field is set to learn a lot. They’ll also be joined on the timetable by the Avon Tyres Northern & Super Classic Formula Ford Championship, which visits one of its favourite venues and a circuit that always gets good support from local drivers. Two series means double the Formula Fords and double the fun!
There’s also more Blue Oval antics to enjoy as well, as there will also be an appearance from the Modified Ford Series, a new addition to the BRSCC roster for 2021 and one that appears to be bringing an incredible paddock chocked full with Fords! We’re sure to see a grid populated with many Escorts, Sierras, Fiestas, Capris, Focuses, Pumas and more in a series that really has inspired any racers who love the Ford marque to bring their cars out and race against each other. Anglesey will certainly provide an interesting test, but the International circuit means that we’ll certainly have room for all the cars, even though it will still be rather busy!
