About the AIRTEC Motorsport Fiesta ST240 Championship

The AIRTEC Motorsport Fiesta ST240 Championship is a single-make tin-top championship dedicated to the popular and much-loved Ford Fiesta, one of the UK’s best-selling small cars of all time, as well as being a staple of British motorsport for over 30 years. It is also an official support series to the TCR UK Touring Car Championship, making it the perfect platform for drivers to step up to higher levels of tin top racing.

The championship runs to a single, one-make class structure with the car of choice being the Mk7 Ford Fiesta ST180, known within the championship as the ST240 due to a boost in power up to 240bhp, hence the class and car being known as the “Fiesta ST240”. The cars also run dedicated AST Suspension, Goodyear slick and wet tyres and EBC Brakes amongst a range of mandatory parts every car must run.

The AIRTEC Motorsport Fiesta ST240 Championship is a superb saloon car platform that drivers can use towards their goals of reaching major national series such as the BTCC, TCR UK or the British GT Championship, for example. In previous years, the championship has also proven to be a natural progression point for young drivers graduating from the Fiesta Junior Championship, with a prime example being 2022 champion Jenson Brickley who succeeded just a year out from winning the FJC title. Typically, the championship welcomes drivers of all ages and experience levels and provides a platform that allows them to compete on an even playing field and promote driving skill and car set-up abilities as the key factors for success.

This is a championship with a proven track record of creating some of the biggest and best racing stars from the touring car world, with Ash Sutton, Matt Neal, Steve Soper, Gordon Shedden and Colin Turkington all having honed their craft at the wheel of a Fiesta at one stage in their careers.

It also features some of the best paddock atmosphere you’ll find in club motorsport, with regular social occasions at various points in the season allowing teams, drivers, families and sponsors to get together, make friends and have fun while still maintaining an air of competition.

The Fiesta ST240 Championship features a “Pro” and “Am” class structure, allowing both the fastest and more career minded drivers, and those who race simply for their own enjoyment and competition, to battle for dedicated silverware in each. At the end of the season, there will be an overall champion, as well as individual Pro and Am class winners too. There is also a Masters Trophy competition, with drivers aged 45 and over eligible to contest for it and will be awarded to the Masters competitor with the highest number of points overall.
